• SURF TAX : Since August 2016 the Government of Mentawai has issued a new tax for surfers: Every person who wants to surf in the Mentawai Islands has to pay an amount of 1.000.000 Rupiah in exchange for a bracelet which serves as proof of the payment and has a validity of fifteen days. This payment must be done in Padang.
• If you want to avoid the public ferry, we can organize a faster transfer service operated by private companies with two different types of speedboats.They make route from/to Padang and arrive on the beach in front of the camp. • Additional costs for TICKETS of the FERRY plus loading and transporting surfboard bags on the ferry are not included:
FERRY’s TICKETS: 25USD ONE WAY
SURFBOARD BAGS:
– 20USD per surfboard bag within 15kg one way
– 40USD per surfboard bag between 15kg and 25 kg one way
– 60USD per surfboard bag over that 25kg one way
